PSU Business Incubation Center

The setting up of PSU Business Incubation Center of Prince of Songkla University was approved in May 2005. In the beginning, its objectives were to push and promote students, graduates, alumni and personnel of the university with high potential to become entrepreneurs in knowledge-based business; and to push for and support research, innovation and creative works of high potential value to become commercially viable. In 2006 the Commission on Higher Education decided to promote incubation works in the form of the three linkage activities, namely, University Business Incubator (UBI), Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Management, and Government and Private Commercialized Cooperation in Research and Development. It has supported the setting up of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Management Unit (or Technology Licensing Office) in 10 universities which possess potential and readiness in research and commercialization of their research output. Prince of Songkla University is one of them which received the aforementioned support, and the licensing unit is under the management of PSU Business Incubation Center. Since then the center has enlarged its services to include intellectual property and technology transfer management as well as giving education to people in the commercialization of intellectual property.
