Vision:        To be a leading faculty of the nation in producing well qualified sciences graduates, and in creating excellence in research in specific fields of specialization.
Mission:        To Produce graduates in sciences who are knowledgeable and morally sound; to impart and provide academic services which are accurate, up to date; to place emphasis on research with application on the development of southern Thailand, and to strive for academic standard of international level.
       The Faculty of Sciences was established in 1967 with temporary office in a building of the Faculty of Medical Science, University of Medicine (Now the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University), with the initial objectives of providing the teaching of basic science subjects to engineering student of the Faculty of Engineering and to prepare for the establishment of other faculties of applied sciences in the future. In 1979 the Faculty enrolled its first group of students, total 54, into the programs of Bachelor of Chemistry and Bachelor of Mathematics. At that time the Faculty consisted of only 5 departments and 1 teaching unit, and with only 67 faculties and staff.
